Making an AFCS claim requires exactly the same mindset
As a firm with ex-forces staff we know only too well the importance that you place on planning a task so that you get it right first time. What surprises us is that all too often you do not place the same importance on planning and preparation when making an AFCS or WPS claim.
There is a mistaken belief that when it comes to AFCS and WPS claims you can simply submit the application form and wait for the money to land in your bank account. Nothing could be further from the reality of how difficult these claims can be and how thoroughly they are challenged by Veterans UK.
There are 94 different Regulations covering AFCS claims, any one of which can result in a claim being declined, and thousands of pounds in compensation are lost because service personnel do not understand what’s involved. You wouldn’t expect a civilian to be able to strip and re-assemble an SA80 and we do not expect you to understand the complexities and traps that underpin the AFCS/WPS regulations.
